Travel from NYC to Philly Like a Local

September 4, 2010

Train travel can be far pricier than any other form of short-haul transportation, with Amtrak charging $100 or more for one-way peak travel from NYC to Philly. If you don’t mind a slower ride (and a connection), taking NJTransit from Penn Station to Trenton ($15) and connecting to Philly on SEPTA ($5) is a much more affordable option. NJT and SEPTA schedule trains to minimize connection times — simply purchase a connecting ticket in New York (or Philly) and step across the platform to your next train.

First iPhone post: My JetBlue AYCJ adventure begins after the holiday weekend, so I wanted to give iPhone posting a shot before my 6 a.m. Tuesday flight to Costa Rica.
