Food Truck Fest Hits Governors Island Sunday

September 1, 2010

New York City is unique for more reasons than I can name, but this Sunday, our obsession with the gourmet food truck — puzzling to many out-of-towners — will take the spotlight on Governors Island. From noon-5, hungry New Yorkers can sample food from Jamaican Dutchy Truck, Rickshaw Dumpling, Green Pirate juice, Joyride Truck, Red Hook Lobster Pound, Van Leeuwan Artisan Ice Cream, Halo Berlin, The Cinnamon Snail, Kelvin Natural Slush Co, Hermelinda Mexicana, among others, at Parked on Colonel’s Row. If you haven’t made the free trip to Governor’s Island, there’s never been a better time to go — the free ferry departs from the Battery Maritime Building located at 10 South Street every 30 minutes from 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
